Soil
The most important thing to establishing a new lawn is determining your soil composition. Once we find out the condition of your soil we will be able to amend it so it can produce a healthy lawn and landscape.

| Preparation
Site preparation is the most important factor determining the success of a sodded lawn. Oxford Lawn & Landscape, Inc. takes the time to prepare the area for your new lawn. Laying the sod and putting the seed down is the easy part, preparing the site for a beautiful lawn is the key.

Sod vs. Seed
Although lawns may be established by seeding, there are several advantages to creating a lawn with sod. Sod offers the visual appeal of an ‘instant lawn’. We use certified sod farms who are required to grow sod for 18 months before it is cut. This is very important because you are getting a mature plant that is weed free and has a higher resistance to fungus, pests and drought. Some other benefits of sod include utilizing the lawn more quickly, immediate erosion control, being able to establish a lawn virtually year round, and reducing the amount of mud and dirt tracked into the house.

| Overseeding
Overseeding is the practice of applying seed to an existing lawn. This can be accomplished by slice seeding, drop seeding and broadcast seeding. The method we use on your lawn depends on your lawns current condition. This will promote new growth and fill in any bare patches before weeds do. Overseeding is best done in the fall when the small seedlings are not in threatened by excessive heat or dry periods. We use an certified seed blend which is naturally insect and disease resistant that is blended for our region.
